I had a long talk with this owner. He painted the car himself..great job! The racing history of Hudson is legend. It was the car to beat before the advent of the modern OHV V8. There was a 6 and an 8 cylinder, this one a 6. Twin carburetors made sure enough fuel got to the cylinders..he tells me the intake valves were 2 inches in diameter! There were no valve seats, because the block and head were of chrome alloy steel instead of the less expensive cast iron everyone else was using. Sales began to slide, so Hudson invested a lot of money in the compact Hudson Jet, unfortuantely a sales failure. There was nothing else to do except merge with Nash/Kelvinator, and that sealed the fate for Hudson..dead in 1956. Moral: if you're a small auto company, you can't afford any mistakes!

Its the tail end of these cars that gets me...especially the tail lights...reminds me of the martian war machines from the classic war of the worlds film from 1953. I'm probably the only person to ever make that comparison. haha. sweet set of wheels.
Well these cars were quite advanced for their day, with the "step down" design and smooth flowing lines..now that you mention it..those tailights do have that unworldly quality to them...no one else had anything quite like it! Thanks! :) Jack
1633 kg ? He(She,It) is not trés heavy for a car O.o (knowing that aujourd' eight cars pésent more than a ton XD). No it is I who says to you thank you grace has you I learns things! ^^ XDDDD
Yes his(her, its) I noticed it their speed! ^^ How much to weigh exactly Hudson Hornet? ^^ (Lol I know I ask of funny questions but I would like to know about it telement on its cars! ^^)
The earliest I go back in weight is 1955, and by that time, they were Nashes. The weight of a 1955 Hudson was about 3600 pounds, or 1633 KG. The earlier cars may have been a little lighter, but it's hard to say! Thanks for the question! :) Jack
Certe, video is inferior, but in the moin one reconnait that it is Hudson hornet ^^ Her resembles has the motor of a hornet her? O.o Waa it is tros strange! 0.o Lol ^^ 5 Stars ^^
This was the usual Hudson Hornet, with twin H power...two carburetors supplying the 6 cylinder engine. These were very fast cars despite their weight. Thanks for the rating and the comment! :) Jack
