Hands down the most epic music in the game; that first time you walked into stormwind back in 2004, crossed that bridge, and this started playing. Holy. Shit.

I remember starting this game just when burning crusade came out, I had no idea what i was doing but i stumbled into stormwind, I was so overwhelmed and got lost because it was so big. The music gave me chills and I was dying to see people running past on mounts. The atmosphere captured me and a fresh world of endless possibilities. I quit just after WoTlk but I hope the game hasn't been ruined too much since then

I've tried basically every single new MMO just to get that kick but none has succeeded. I'm pretty sure Guild Wars 2 won't either, no way they will implement all the mystique etc that made vanilla so great.

I play SWTOR now, because of the end-game gear issues at WoW. I like SWTOR, but the music is shit compared to WoW masterpiece music like this one!

@DeresteauR The composers don't decide what blizzard/activision charges for their products. Jason Hayes, Derek Duke & Tracy Bush are the composers listed for the vanilla WoW OST on itunes (a bit over an hour of music for $9.99 or $0.99 per track), and the soundtracks for the later expansions + some random assortments (such as the tavern themes by David Arkenstone) are also up on itunes.
