2012 Silver Cougar Bullion Coin Designs:

The Canadian Wildlife silver bullion series features reverse designs emblematic of the diverse array of wildlife that can be encountered in the vast landscape of Canada. Among those creatures is the cougar which is shown on the reverse of this one ounce silver strike. The cougar is also known as puma, mountain lion, mountain cat, catamount or panther in other regions of the world.

Senior Royal Canadian Mint Engraver William Woodruff is responsible for the design of the large cat. It depicts the Canadian cougar with its front paws grasped on a fallen inclined tree limb baring its large teeth with an open mouth. The inscriptions of CANADA, 9999, FINE SILVER, 1 OZ, ARGENT PUR and the initials WW for the designer are also shown on the reverse.

Canadian Wildlife silver bullion coins are struck as legal tender of Canada and feature face values of 5 DOLLARS which is indicated on the obverse. That is joined by the Susanna Blunt effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and additional inscriptions of 2011 and ELIZABETH II.

  • another great coin. I know years ago I,d buy ten pandas and they,d come in a little bag with a draw string then in a round plastic sealed. The last time i bought them they came individualy wrpped in a plastic round. I bought canadian grizzlys and out of 30 twenty came in a tube, no protection from rubbing together and the rest weren,t individualy wrapped. how was the cougare wrapped when it came. With the wolves really high how do they come , thanks rocky

  • @rocky315w I bough my cougars from monarchpreciousmetals(dot)(com) and I received them packed separately in zip seal plastic bags (quite disappointing) ... I expected at least these soft vinyl coin flips.

  • Where so you buy/find these coins?

  • @Rshen11 monarchpreciousmetals(dot)(com) , providentmetals(dot)(com) The prices shown on both website for each product reflect a 3% cash discount. Payments sent via credit or debit card are not eligible for the 3% cash discount and will be adjusted accordingly during checkout.... I like to buy from gainesvillecoins(dot)(com)... Apmex great service, but a little pricey

  • Im a little iffy about buying to many pandas as there has been some concerns in regards to fraud, But the Perth Mints coins out of Australia most people have nothing but good things to say about them ;)

  • @rocky315w Pandas and most nice coins from the Aussi's ie Perth Mint are packaged amazingly

  • I have 35 of those Cougars, 3 Grizzlies, and 12 Timberwolves

  • @Silvercoinsshow thanks forthe information, at least they kept them from scratching each other. So I guess that all the stuff i buy at the flea market in those plastic rounds are from the dealers not the mints. But the pandas I get from APMEX always come in seperate plastic rounds or as i mentioned earlire in those nice litle bags and then in plastic. I,ll try to show one when I do the contest winner. thanks

  • @MrPointspread Mant thanks after i put that up I figured I,d better check and see and they were in those sleeves. I should have done that before saying anything and many thanks for taking the time as many of the people that watch don,t have any and i often burry them right after getting them. Rocky

  • @rocky315w All Wildlife Coins from the mint come in 2 ways. In normal plastic tubes or in sealed mylar sleeves no matter Wolf,Grizzly or Cougar.

When you see them in nice airtite capsules thats because someone else other then the mint put them in there.

  • @TheSilverWatch Bottomline is they are idiots! They package the exchange $20 for $20 coins amazingly yet they cant do it for the wildlife series coins? They are just being retards as usual.

If I get anymore Wildlife coins from this pricks I want the ones that come in the sealed mylar packaging. There is nothing worse then paying $5 over spot for coins that come in a plastic tube :(

  • @Rshen11 try bordergold(dot)(com)
