I had a chance to evaluate a pair of these cabs from California. As can be seen in the video, quality of workmanship is substandard. If there is enough interest I have a video of the interior construction. These were ordered unloaded. Construction is plywood with dado joints. Cabinet itself appeared to be solid. Issues were with sloppy trim work, bad piping, damaged wood, incorrect parts as ordered.
Since this review I received back the reworked cabinets and now one cabinet has warped so bad that it moves back and forth even on a carpeted floor. Substandard construction. Avoid these at all costs!

  • I don't even know if the wood is authentic. It seems SO light, it's unbelievable. Couldn't help with tonality at all in my opinion. A strong, beefy heavy cab is going to give you tone, not something you can lift with your pinky. There's just no excuse for these cabs, period.

  • @andrewpolitano I agree ... it is plywood and with speakers loaded they are hefty. They do not rattle with the JBLs and EVMs I have loaded in the two cabs. One cab has warped.

  • Hi ... unfortunately due to several quality reliability issues with these cabinets we've decided not to load the cabinets. Cabinets have been scrapped.

  • Sonsetbeach on Ebay distributes these ... actually a family run operation in California actually makes these. If Mojo made these cabs I would steer you to Mojo. I have several Mojo Marshall type cabs and the quality is excellent. Packing was much better too, Mojo foams there cabs in.

  • Thanks! I was going to buy one of these but thanks to you I will NOT! To bad. What a joke!

  • @dbenc I agree ... for a few hundred more you can get a real Orange loaded with Celestions. These did not even come with speakers. One cab has warped. I have tweaked these to be tolerable including JBLs and EVMs.

  • Well after hastling with return shipping costs and waiting for the corrected cabs ... they arrived today. Better job ... see my review at 'Sonsetbeach Orange 2x12 cab clones - re-evaluation'.

  • Apparently the cause was due to an older family member that did the work. They've promised that this was the last of such defects. Replacements are on the way so I will get a revised review up if its positive. I will say that the wood cab construction itself was solid. I did finally get my return shipping returned. I will say ... the workmanship on the exterior was not as precise as Mojotone's.

  • The video does not pick up how really bad these look. Everyone that has seen them say they look home-made. These were represented to be from the same factory that makes Orange cabs in the US ... the point of the video ... they are not the same quality.
