An ode to the fist of defiance and persistence, 'Building Avalon' is the new single from the UK's John Reilly.
Just one of the results of an intensely creative and exciting 18-months period of songwriting with Vancouver-based piano man Lewis Nitikman, 'Building Avalon' has already been playlisted by CBC, Canada's largest national radio station.
Hailing from the city of Sheffield, Yorkshire, the same working environment as Richard Hawley, Pulp and Arctic Monkeys, John Reilly is rapidly emerging from his former role as the frontman for Boy On A Dolphin into his newly adopted solo role, having already performed to over 10,000 fans across several sold-out headline shows at Sheffield's prestigious City Hall.
As usual, Reilly's lyrics cut through the surface and head straight to where it matters and suddenly you are a part of his crusade. With a deep bow to Northern Soul, Reilly sings 'You wanna take us on? Then come and get some!' as 'Building Avalon' bursts out of the blocks with a soulful brass riff that conjures up thoughts of The Teardrop Explodes' Reward and Plan B.
'Building Avalon' precedes the release of John Reilly's debut solo album, 'ZEBULON', which is scheduled for release on September 1st 2011.
John Reilly is available for interview.
