One of the best music writers ever and the best hard rock writer ever. Anyone with a cursory knowledge of Ozzy's music knows this is the man responsible for the success the Osbourne's know today. As one poster mentioned you need only to read the lyrics on the first two records to know who was responsible. Ozzy is an entertainer - not a lyricist. God bless you Bob and Lee.

with all due respect to Rob Trujillio and Mike Bordin, the re-recorded Blizzard and Diary albums are unlistenable, more so if you know and cherish the originals. the mix and purity of the Rhoads, Daisley, Kerslake combination was so real and created (obviously) by three people in the same space breathing the same air. it was a brilliant platform for Ozzy's talent, and people need to know that Bob Daisley cemented Ozzy's legacy by giving him beautiful lyrics to work with.

Yep, since Bob's not in the band, ozzy puts out crap like " I don't wanna stop" No where near the lyrical content of Blizzard of Oz and Diary.
-
he is one of my main influences on the bass, along with Jason Newsted.

Bob was also in Kahvas Jute who had two albums back in australia then he played on chicken shacks unlucky boy album, was also in a band called widowmaker who had 2 albums in the 70's as well as rainbow and all his other bands over the years he's great

There so many great comments on here, all recognizing Bob and Lee for their superb contributions to Blizzard and Diary.
The only two Oz album for me, besides Sabbath.
-
Yep...definitely the best 2 sab albums.
I was really disillusioned when I found out that Ozzy didn't right the lyrics to Blizzard and Diary...but it makes a lot more sense now that Bob did. Those two albums have brilliant performances by everyone......from Randy to Ozzy, Bob and Lee. Perfect band.

i love all the damn people on here for knowing this story its about time i found other people. thank you for making my day
-
Agreed, on all counts. And you're more than welcome, glad you enjoyed it; but all the thanks really goes to Bob.

I still like Ozzy singing the old Sabbath lyrics and Sabbath never came close to going beyond what they did when Ozzy was in the band. I don't think Ozzy would have ever done very well at all either if it weren't for Daisley and RR. That's too bad Ozzy has to take credit for others work.. Thanks a lot for posting this interview.
Amen... Randy Rhoads TOGETHER with Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake saved Ozzy's life, let alone his career. Sad what money can do to people, Sharon is a despicable greedy person (and Ozzy is her powerless puppet). Long live Randy, and thanks to Daisley and Kerslake for creating the magic.

Listen to the lyrics on the Diary album and tell me this man is not a genius. Ozzy couldn't get the timing on the song Diary of a Madman never mind write the lyrics. He never got his due respect and probably never will. Why Ozzy and Sharon screwed him is beyond me.
