Watched your snare vids and while I have my preferences, despite different shell materials/depths, tunings, etc., they all sound similar....WHY? Your technique. I have 14 snare drums and when I record them I only hear the slight nuances and they are in regards to sharpness and depth which initially pissed me off (why did I purchase all these damn EXPENSIVE drums?) Bottom line,....a good drummer can make ANY snare drum sound good. Enjoying your videos!

Mapex makes nice snares for cheaper then 150

Before I buy this I was wondering, it sounds absolutely great on here, but does it have body and tone, but can it also project pretty well, without massive overtones?
And what would be your top three complaints on it?

Looks ands sounds great!

I guess do. But my 14" Ex birch snare has wicked nasty overtones and ring. Trust me. I've been tinkering with all sorts of different tuning. Nothing get rid of it.
How would you say this compares to a Pearl EX 14" Birch snare?

I think no... because this snare 13" is in steel.
