2008 was my first season of racing. I competed in the Red Lodge Pro kart championship Clubman class finished 5th with many podium finishes and wins also achieved clubman lap record 47.88 seconds. Burwell's Dan Brigham has finished fifth in the local Prokart championship at Red Lodge in his very first season with his sights set on bigger and better things for next year.
Dan, 17, had his first race at Wildtracks in October last year and finished second. There was no holding him back, he became a regular front runner and was soon in winning position. Racing at the Red Lodge karting circuit for the 2008 season, he achieved many podium positions and currently holds the lap record of 47.88 seconds in the Clubman Prokart class.

Last weekend Dan entered a race at the Daytona kart circuit in Milton Keynes where he claimed pole position and went on to win the race.

No stranger to race tracks, Dan has been attending meetings at Silverstone Racing Club with his father since he was four years old.

"I got bored with watching and decided I wanted to take part", Dan said. "I am really pleased with how well the first year has gone".

Now a student at Long Road sixth form college, Dan would like nothing better than a career in racing when he leaves school. But before then he plans to win a few more races. He has secured his racing licence and moves up to drive a Tiger Avon 2.0 ltr Ford Zetec for the season that begins in March 2009 at Brands Hatch.
