  • Canada's treatment of Japanese-Canadians was far worse than that of Japanese-Americans. And to this day, Canadians still bash Americans.

And what about Canada's refusal to allow the SS St. Louis to dock in Canada so that Jewish refugees from Europe could be safe from the Nazis? It's disgusting to see many of my fellow Canadians put themselves and Canada on a higher platitude than Americans when Canada is just as guilty of human rights atrocities.

  • As a Canadian I admit this was a grave injustice and not our proudest moment. However to speak frankly, it is time to let it go. It has been 3 generarions since this happened and you are stigmatizing the current population into feeling guilty about the actions of their ancestors in which they have obviously no control over.

  • what song did you use in this video? :)

& great vid & pictures. gave me the chills. :$

  • @TheSillytuber

especially since the Japanese PAID for their own internment. All the money the government made from selling their items was used to pay for the internment of Japanese

  • What's the name of the song called?

and it's pretty sad, $21,00 is being cheap for all they went through :/

  • Where did you get all this information?

  • @gggsaber Well Korea and China is a different situation. Many japanese people openly admitt that unit 731 (Who did their horrible experiments on white POWs too) is a lie to "hurt the japanese pride and people", and that's why I think this video is ridicolous, what japanese people did in their concetrationcamp were not just discriminating people but was sometimes worse to the treatment of jews and russians in their concetration camps.

  • @Easyrider1414

plz say that to Korea and China

  • @BigDogLtd

But, when you think of history, you must get yourself into the situation.

Like i said before, at the moment the camps were needed to protect the other citizens but it could save even the Jpn- Canadaians from violence by the other citizens, if gv didnt do wrong.

i think the gv did too much like confiscating their possessions, and conditions of camps were fucking bad, and the way was wrong also.

For us, who live right this momment, it was unbelivable, but think of the time.

  • @BigDogLtd

first, Canada, Vancouver island, was actually attacked by Japanese navy( damage was not serious at all.

second, i didnt say it was a legit reason, and never justify the Canadian governmant

this sad fact was terrible, i never argue about this.

  • @BigDogLtd

But I'm glad we learned from it so we didn't repeat it after 9/11 because we as a global people need to be better. There'd be no way in hell I'd let the government throw anyone of racial or religious backgrounds into those concentration camps and I highly doubt it many people would be for it as we all know at least a few people of diverse backgrounds. Would you want your best friends ,their families and friends , rounded up like cattle into these camps out of your fear? Thats all

  • @gggsaber

A war that did not even effect them directly.

They were never attacked on their own soil by any Japanese soldier or plane and being "suspicious" is not a legit reason. Either you get all the facts or don't do it at all . And even if they attacked , why would any of these CITIZENS who fled from Japan for a better life ,let alone 2nd and 3rd generation Canadians, want to destroy their only home?

I deplore what happened in my home country too , the US. Face it , we screwed up.
