  • HK government and police handled the unrest admirably. They used very little force considering the situation. Many citizens in HK was very afraid the outcome of the unrest with the extreme left fanning the flames. Some feared that the colonial government may be forced out and the district fall back into the communist China's hand. Sure was the most turbulent time after the invasion by the Japanese. I remember the brutal murder of the TV announcer in the newspaper and radio.
