  • Yes, it is quite true that a laparoscopic procedure may rarely be complicated by such an iatrogenic collateral injury. It is always alright if such an injury is immediately recognized and remedied there and then.... as must have been in your case. Thus you live to tell the tale today.

    However, this particular case was because of a stab with homicidal intent. Gunshots, shrapnel or stabs being a common cause of such a life threatening injury in my part of the world.
