Chapel Club's third release, 'The Shore', a song possibly about faith and the torment/frustration that surrounds it. In all, pretty deep stuff from the band. A good friend described this as 'Hypnotic' - I'd second that. Excitement for the debut album, 'PALACE', builds ever more - be sure to buy it on January 31st! LISTEN LOUD!

Lewis Bowman - vocals. Michael Hibbert - guitars. Alex Parry - guitars. Liam Arklie - Bass. Rich Mitchell - drums.

I'm having a billboard time
On this aimless train ride
It seems we spend the best hours of our lives
In flower markets on balconies
Wasted and wanting
More than we've the power to achieve
Hopeless and haunted
By a thousand ghosts of opportunity
Look to the setting sun
There's blood on the water
Nothing will be undone
We're dancing along the edge

You liar, you coward, you snake
He is your lion, your flower, your maker
And yet the night has freed you to reason
You and your noiseless dreams defeat him

I slept long
Only to wake and watch the same land tesellate
I dusted for forgotten fingerprints of grace
In every hidden place along the shore
Waiting and wasting
More than I've the power to restore
Hopeless, unsated
One more thief abandoned by the law

You liar, you coward, you snake
He is your lion, your flower, your maker
And yet the night has freed you to reason
You and your noiseless dreams defeat him

Golden-shadowed one, you are your own God
Golden-shadowed one, you are your own God

You liar, you coward, you snake
He is your lion, your flower, your maker
And yet the night has freed you to reason
You and your noiseless dreams defeat him

  • I can see the smiths influence on chapel club but i don't see why everyone keeps mentioning it, i also see much more influences stronger than the smiths such as the whole 90's shoegaze movement however influences aside, chapel club are an an excellent established band in their own right, tune!!!

  • @garydillon1991 I'm in total agreement with you.

  • These guys are different, they sound nothing like Joy division, Tom yorkey the smiths, Interpol etc... they have their own style.

  • @Chabas8803 100% agree

  • Saw this band at Brixton Academy in May, supporting Suede. I can understand the Smiths influence but as garydillon1991 mentioned they are an excellent established band in their own right !! Also good live ( :

  • THE SMITHS???

    Oh my god!

    where?

The voice and the instrumental part seems to be more a Billy idol song.

But come on the drum doesn't match anything with The Smiths.

A beatiful tribute to the late 80's with really powerful lyrics and some modern sound, the electronic part.

    Really good.

But nothing to spare with The Smiths.

  • There are 5 dislikes? Huh?

  • @shabai326 what? that guitar is all slowdive my friend.
