This is one of the best interviews that i've seen with Ritchie. He talks fantastically about
6 Deep Purple songs. And he explains how, when, from where, from what they became,
with fabulous examples after each song, made by Japanese interviewers. The songs are:

Mandrake Root
Black Night
Speed King
Smoke On the Water
Lazy
Highway Star

Pay attention at the end when he talks about Highway Star, and mentions Gillan and what

he says about him !

Believe me you can't often hear Ritchie talking about Ian in that way !

  • Great clip!Mr Blackmore ! What an amazing skilled guitarplayer...fantastic sound an Epic Riffs..

  • Is it me or do people not get it? As well as being an amazing guitarist, Ritchie is/was a supreme piss taker who was so bored with the thousands of interviews to do, he made up ways of amusing himself. Some of it was pure Monty Python and I have pissed myself laughing. Really chaps, don't take it so seriously, Ritchie didn't.

  • @royalenr1 why dont you watch it again?

  • When does he say that he stole the song from Hendrix?

  • I cant believe this, is this person insane-he is admiting that his best songs are stolen from clapton and Hendrix-wtf?

  • This man was a genius. What happened to him?

  • Richie Blackmon was from Hishie Circus, wasn't he?

  • some songwriters are calling their agents now
