You should go to your local mexican grocery store and get a big cutting board to roll your tortillas on instead of using the counter, plus you can make poor mans menudo with a can of hominy and a cup of pinto beans and a menudo spice packet. I'll be posting a vid on it for you, it's a complete protein meal without meat and tastes great.
If you make a GREAT tortilla, then you probably know how to make "sopapillas", they're an extended flour tortilla cut into quarters, and each quarter fried in some hot oil, sometimes the quarters rise, sometimes no, but once they're golden brown, take 'em out of the hot oil, drain on a paper towel and then serve with honey,...really great, yet its simple.
Thank you very much everydayfoodstorage, excellent vid, great instructions a guy can understand..... can you do a simple dumpling recipe? Also looking for other recipes that require as few ingredients as possible.
Once you are at the stage where you have little balls of dough, you can wrap them individually in saran wrap, and put them in a container in your freezer. Then to use you just take out as many as you want, let them defrost completely then go on with your rolling.
