@ArenaOfTheAncients Yes, the Wehrmacht was a great fighting force. They fought extremely well on all fronts but were greatly outnumbered and Germany was heavily bombed as well. Still, the Germans fought tenaciously. I feel the same way about my two great great grandfathers who fought in the Confederate Army against an industrialized Union Army that greatly outnumbered the CSA and whose armies sieged many southern cities, killing noncombatants, women and children. Another war of attrition.

@JohQx3 The population of USSR was of 194 000 000 in 1940, why are you talking about 50% ?

Numbers of SS were high as 1 000 000 at the end of the war, < 250 000 in 1940 , few more in 1941-1943.

In the end, Most of the SS were ex wehrmacht soldiers.

The Wehrmacht was the bloodiest army the world has ever seen, more than any armies<= fact

@Heybuddy06 Hmm...so Wehrmacht killed up to 30 000 000 innocent people (meaning Soviet citizens). Then Stalin killed up to 20 000 000 Soviet citizens in Gulags etc. Then up to 20 000 000 Red Army soldiers died in combat mainly thanks to Stalins purges. So...USSR lost some 50% of its population in WW2? No, I dont think so. Unless you consider killing of enemy soldiers and killing of innocent people as a same thing. Numbers of SS were as high as 1 000 000, not the 250 000 you state.
