What I got out of it :
Max dies in a carwreck after a arguement with Goofy .
Goofy is in such a traumatized state he hallucinates .

Lynch haters are just pissed off because they're used to being spoon fed every thing in a film. Yeah, I'm lost throughout a lot of Lynch films, but I don't care. It's all in the emotional undertones and environment he puts you in; haunting, vast and beautifully sinister.
