It's not canon but the possibility for such a misunderstood/badly begun relationship gives alot of romm to grow. Plus, the fact that the relationship between Mai and Joey has been deemed by the author as "purely friendship" makes a pairing between Kaiba and Joey all the more plausible.

aarilax, they do not loath each other. They do however get off on the wrong foot but gain respect for one another as the series progresses. Yes,there is ample amounts of bases for this pairing. The most obvious their complimentary backgrounds and family history as well as the connection of the blue eyes and red eyes white dragon. There is alot these two can learn from each other and that in itself gives fans a reason the pair them together.
