Son of a gun! She really handled a proto-typical train of hoppers with speed and grace. Nicely done.

Reason I asked was, I plan to put a decoder in at some point. Right now I run on a DC layout but hopefully i'll run it on a DCC layout someday. This will help, thanks.

is the layout flat (no grades) or are there a few grades??
Also, what did you do to improve the performance of the Allegheny??
I have the 1629 model.

@NW2300 there are no grades unfortunately. i have two rivarossi allghenies, i'd like to use a pusher. as for performance, other than adding a decoder, nothing was done. the decoder has since been changed to a tsunami southern railway heavy steam decoder because of the more accurate whistle sound. also, the capacitor has been changed to larger capacitor purchased from radio shack. it helped out alot. the small capacitors on the tsunamis would sometimes cause the locos to reset constantly.
