A sample of my style on the Tenor Guitar.
I do not play six-string guitars and am self-taught. A tenor guitar has four strings, a 23" scale and a position marker on the tenth rather than the ninth fret. The proper tuning for Tenor Guitar is in fifths.

Melodies:
Cerezo Rosa: by Leonardi y De Llano
Known to the Anglo world as "Cherry Pink & Apple Blossom White", though the original Spanish lyrics don't mention apple blossoms at all.

Maria Elena: by L. y M. de L. Barcelata

Wheels: by Chet @kins

Quien Sera: by Pablo Beltran Ruiz
AKA "Sway" to the Anglo world.
The English words aren't even close to the Spanish words.

The Harry Lime Theme: by Anton Karas
AKA "the Third Man Theme. Used in the movie as a musical cue for the corrupt American, Harry Lime.

La Vie en Rose: Words & Music by Mack David & Louiguy
Original French lyric by Edith Piaf

A Rosinha dos Limóes: by Artur Joaquim de Alemeida Ribeiro
"Little Rose of the Lemons" (Portugese)

La Hamaca: "The Hamock" Traditional early Californio melody.

A new sampler will be coming soon! Lotsa cool new stuff!

  • he played it so well because of his moustache...

  • @XxgeekmisterxX

    Just so!

  • Hi. Lovely playing. I'm building a double neck at the moment with a 3 string slide tuned GDG and a tenor neck which I was going to tune traditional C G D A. Now I'm wondering if I should drop it a 4th like yours. You like that deeper sound, yeah? You can see my guitars by searching Youtube for Blind Gee Guitars.

  • @glennygtube Dropping the tuning a 4th matches my vocal range better. Your double neck project sounds interesting. It's not something I would have thought of.

  • Nice! Is the metal body one a Gold Tone?

  • @ComradeMorshu

    No, a 1938 National, model O.

  • "Cherry Pink And Apple Blossom White" Woohoo!

  • Hi again. Would you mind measuring the neck width at the nut and maybe the string spacing at the bridge so I know how much to taper the neck on the one I'm building? Thanks in advance!

  • Opinion on the sites about which one to use are 50/50, but Joel Eckhaus of Earnest Instruments favours GDAE for its fuller sound, and I agree. And of course mando players like it. Also very easy to tune down the A and E to G and D and get my usual GDGD open tuning.

If you do a search for "Brian's huge chordlist collection", there are very complete diags for CGDA and GDAE tunings in the tenor banjo section.

  • Nice mustache -_-

  • Thank you for sharing! Very interesting style of guitar!

  • Does anyone know what range a tenor guitar has tuned in e?
