This is Baziri Teofili, a mbira player from Congo (then called Belgian Congo). The legendary Hugh Tracey made the recording in the 50´s on one of his travels in the region. My source is a 78 record from 1952. Mbira is a small "thumb piano". The title of the song is "Amana mi adu namgwetia lebobo".
The photo shows the actual musician himself with his instrument.

  • @Synthiotics Did I talk to you ? I did not invite some uneducated fool to comment to me. Get lost dumbass..

  • @flyguyinmotion alwso, you take this internet thingy far too personal... i don't give a fuck who you are.

  • @flyguyinmotion Who do I think I'm commenting to? Someone who posted a naive and very one-sided comment, that's who!

  • @Synthiotics Who do you think you're commenting to ? You're talking to someone who has studyed history probably longer than you've been alive. Have you even been to Africa ? You shouldn't assume you know more than the next guy. Quite often, you don't..

  • @flyguyinmotion You do know that initially most of the slaves sold to the evil white man were prisoners of war captured by other African tribes, no? Their prisoners were killed, enslaved, eaten, what have you. There was plenty of war and violence in Africa long before the white man set foot there... Stop idolizing one colour and always demonising another.

  • :30 kicks in. should i be dancing salsa or what hahahahahaha!!! good shit!!!

  • @talara18 All people have a history of killing each other. Africa's situation intensified with the introduction of the AK and Soviet / Cuban involvement. It destroyed any chance of a peaceful transition from colonialism. Of course "What if's ?" can be debated endlessly, but the level of killing has been much greater from the 1960s to today in Africa. That's not the case in other parts of the world.

  • @flyguyinmotion no that's bullshit, they have been killing each other since time immemorial

  • Interesting.. One gets the feeling that African people are mosly peaceful. The worst violence was taught with slavery and the distribution of the AK-47. The more you abuse someone the more violent they become.
