@seharris11 Thank you, I already have, but they said it will take 2 weeks. I will wait 2 weeks and then I will contact them if I don't recieve it. After that, if I still don't have it, I will persue legal action.

I love all your videos. I have a math learning disability myself, not Dyscalculia, but something else. I am in Florida, originally from Grand Ledge, MI. I talked to some schools here in Orlando and they all offered me "Reasonable accomadations" to. They said they can get me a toutor and extra time, etc. I told them I already failed Algebra I twice, even with a tutor. So that stuff is not a "Reasonable Accomadation" for me! I will still fail. So they said I don't have to take it Algebra at all.
I just completed my evaluation for Dyscalculia, and the tester (Psycologist) said I definately have it, but he also tested me for other things like IQ, spelling, reading, etc. He thinks I am vey dumb and is surprised I drive a vehicle. He laughed at my math answers and I know I failed. I had the form to mail to my State for acomidations for GED testing, but he refused to let me mail it in, said he would do it. I guess he didn't want me to see what he wrote.

@townkevin59 I cannot believe a "professional" laughed at you. Wow. Make sure you get a copy of the entire evaluation, that is your legal right! Just call the office and request that they mail you a copy of the DMS-IV results and evaluation immediately. So sorry the shrink was an asshole lol. Hang in there and I hope you get he accommodations that you want!

I convinced the colleges to get me out of the math classes, I went all the way up to the Dean. No one else was able to help me. I'm planning on taking: Medical Business Mangement. (It sounds like I would have to have Algebra for that, but, NOT TRUE!) My arguement is: My brother owns his own business and he has never taken Algebra. He and all other Managers I know only use BASIC MATH! They said it was for Critical Thinking skills. I said, I won't ever use it! I won and got out of taking Algebra!

@davida3606 Good for you! It is definitely a battle sometimes trying to fight with colleges to get a waiver or subsititution! I ended up starting my own business, and aside from balancing my checkbook and overseeing finances, I don't have to deal with math lol! Glad you won!

I think I have discalculia as well. I'm going to ask my college for advice. I'm British so I don't know much about American accents, but are you from Rhode Island? Just wondered. I'm probably guessing that you're miles from where you really are from, lol.

@jleer1 Haha I am actually from Michigan :) We have a mid-western accent! I think thats a great idea to talk with your college adviser/counselor about your dyscalculia. Best of luck!
