Pre Workout Meal
Lets discuss a very overlooked aspect of your workout routine and that is your pre-workout nutrition. This is vital to your long-term muscle building goals. Following a solid pre-workout nutritional program will help you dramatically increase your gains in muscle size and strength.

The wrong or even non-existent pre-workout nutrition routine will hamper your intensity and strength capacity, meaning you wont be able to push yourself to the limit. This will result in little or no gains in the gym, because you are not stimulating the muscle fibers to create growth.

Have no fear, the solution is simple and is broken into 2 phases.

Phase one is your Pre-workout meal, this has 3 steps to it and should be consumed 1 to 2 hours before your workout. Step 1 is slow digesting carbs (brown rice, oatmeal, whole wheat pasta, etc..). Then, fruit such as an orange or banana, and finally for your meal you want your Protein. Protein is the building block of new muscle growth. Be sure to get in a whey protein shake.

Phase two of your pre-workout meal is your pre workout supplement and should be taken 30 to 45 minutes before hand. Now that you've got your pre-workout nutrition out of the way, which by this time is almost completely digested, it's time for your final preparation in the form of a pre-workout supplement.
You want to be sure to use a fast acting supplement that will quickly absorb into the bloodstream for rapid results.

Products containing a combination of caffeine and arginine are extremely popular choices, and rightfully so. Caffeine promotes increased focus, intensity and energy in the gym. Arginine-based supplements are another popular choice because they are designed to activate peak vasodilation, resulting in powerful muscle pumps.

Achieving a good pump is vital to new muscle growth because it helps deliver key musclebuilding nutrients, oxygen and amino acids to working muscles, effectively creating an optimal anabolic environment conducive to new growth.

Give these simple, easy-to-follow tips a try and you're guaranteed to notice results both in and out of the gym.
