A brief video detailing my first effort at 3D profiling. I made a simple model in Google Sketchup, then exported it to STL via a plugin. I imported the STL file to CamBam and specified a series of 3D profiling operations with ever decreasing tool diameters.

You should not use a ball end mill while roughing out, as it doesn't cut from its end at all (surface speed at the center is zero). That is why your mill chattered so much.
