This is a tutorial on how to play the original 1972 release of Summer Breeze by Seals and Croft. This is part 1 of 3 videos on this song. Some parts are easy, some will take a little work, but it will be well worth it.

You are so welcome from the USA! Thank you so much for watching!

  • Tks so much!!! I wish you would show up your face, so I want to remember the person who helped to play the most beautiful song ever in my opinion. It's from a time when singers play inspired by true love and family values.... like come home... plates for 2.... soon we will miss things like these in our society. God bless!!!

Thanks so much! I try to focus on teaching folks more than pushing my image, so I show a close-up of the instrument in most of my videos, however, you can see me in some of my guitar video performances by putting "eemusiclive guitar solo" in the search box! Thanks again!

  • wow, love this!!!! are you using a pick on this? How do you get that cool sound on the chorus if you're using a pick? (the lovely fall from G-G7-Em7 etc...) that sounds like it's being finger picked, but the rest sounds like you're using a pick.

Yes, I'm using a flat pick, but sometimes I will use the middle and ring finger of my right hand to throw in a few extra notes that are in the chord I'm holding down. Thanks for watching!

    Hi.

    I'm using an 8th note up and down pattern with emphasis on the down strokes. Kind of like : > > > > 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 . Sometimes I will throw in a few 16th note strums. Thanks!

  • Great lesson, but what are the strumming patterns?

  • Thank you for putting this up! Very good! Thank you from Canada!

  • I thought the chords were easy to play. After hearing several of S&C live performances, I think your chords are almost perfect. I can actually play 3 songs all the way through now after bumping around on guitar for 10 years. Having found several guitarists on youtube in the last couple of years, who I think are good teachers, I am adding you to the list in the full song category. Beginners you should check out Peter Vogl on youtube.
