F-20 Tigershark Tribute

History:
The F-20 Tigershark (initially F-5G) was a privately financed light fighter, designed and built by Northrop. Its development began in 1975 as a further evolution of Northrop's F-5E Tiger II, featuring a new engine that greatly improved overall performance, and a modern avionics suite including a powerful and flexible radar. Compared with the F-5E, the F-20 was much faster, gained beyond visual range air-to-air capability, and had a full suite of air-to-ground modes capable of firing most U.S. weapons. With these improved capabilities, the F-20 became competitive with contemporary U.S. fighter designs like the F-16 Fighting Falcon, but was much less expensive to purchase and operate.

one of the greatest jet's , that never made it to production. Tigershark in its day could take on any air superiority fighter of any Air Force and cause unbridled carnage ! In mock dogfights in the 1980's Tigershark caused havoc with F-15's and toyed with F-16 falcons. It's a shame pentagon politics kept this remarkable and cost effective Jet aircraft from taking it's place in aviation history !!!

Definitely the F-20 was a great enemy of the overvaluated F-16, and in my opinion the F-20 was beside cheaper, so much reliable and better at any sense than the F-16 (Even the F-5 can fight and win with less avionics than the F-16). But F-16 wanted the whole market fighters, so F-20 was put on the trash by the politic not by the tech.

The thing that got me to know about this plane is a game called U.N. Squadron which is based off a old Japanese Manga called Area 88 which is quite an awesome show to watch. This plane it's self is quite a cool plane to look at and is very sleek. I don't see why the military division would want to scrap such a great project.

Sad thing is that USAF hate Northrop. F-20 has less room to grow sure, fine, I'll give you that. But WTF happens to my YF-23 vs YF-22. YF-23 has way more room to grow and has better technology and better numbers from the requirements. Fuck USAF, that's all I gotta say.
