@FatBoyFilmsDotMpeg Serious working golden breeders always bring great dogs for the people to hunt with. They are easy to train, great will to please and very steady.

It's good that the working line GRs look exactly the same as they used to 100 years ago. Nowadays, many of the showline GRs can't even do the job they were created to do because many have been bred solely for conformation. My GRs don't hunt but she is trained in various dig sports & has also won titles in the show ring. I believe that show dogs should not only look all pretty, they should also have brains.

@AmberFaithChloe Unfortunately, field and conformation breeders don't mix much. One has proper working line but not on the so called standard and the other has the standard but not adapted for work (mind and physique). As my wife and I love waterfowl hunting and hunt test events, we keep up the work on those field goldens and respect conformation breeders that do their work professionally.

Long story... and probably too long to write here ! Fortunately, there are some breeders in Northern America that keep the golden as how it was 140 years ago !!!
