This is the ending of The Sopranos the way David Chase had orignally wanted it. 30 seconds of blackout. :)

Post your new opinions of how it feels to be left in the dark for 30 seconds.

Enjoy

This is art, real art, something that will last and not be trite like some stupid action movie. It's not satisfying and yet it's more than satisfying. Like often in The Sopranos, which imitates life in many ways, like life we don't know what happens to people who have left our lives for a variety of reasons, some big, some small, some just because. This is real art and it took an artist, David Chase, to do it right.

It's a TV show, they can do it however they want lol and Paulie was the only Capo left of the Soprano crew anyway. I'm pretty sure NY could give two fucks if Tony lived or not!

    My opinion :

When Tony walked in the restaurant he imagined himself and his family eating there.

Tony has always dined in fine upscale restaurants . But tonight he wanted something more casual, but couldn't .

Tony puts on a casual song from the juke box ( Don't stop believing, Journey ) .

Had Meadow NOT parked that car she would have been alive , but she managed to park it and walked in side, but the director abruptly cut the movie off so we wouldn't see there deadly fate they all had .

Whenever I hear the song, I smile and think about the brilliant ending of The Sopranos.

Hopefully, Journey sees a little action (dollar-wise) courtesy of...?

    (Let's not forget Caddyshack!).

Carmine Jr caused all of this. Tony and Phil were about to let bygones be bygones in that little sit down and Carmine blew that one up.

For one thing, action movies don't really give us time to get close to the characters so they are impersonal. Secondly, this show was built on attitude and action. After six years I would think most viewers wanted and still want to know what happened after Meadow entered. I suppose the art is in the eye of the beholder and a black screen seems to bring proper conclusion to people like yourself. The series was good to rate some real time form of closure.

it creates dramatic tension when she takes a long time to park, at the end you are left to wonder if she arrived just in time to get shot or just in time to watch her family get shot, and if she had parked sooner would she have been shot for sure sitting next to Tony? Probably. I think trying to find symbolism in tv shows is a waste of time. Just appreciate it for what's obviously there
