Stabbing at Methadone Clinic in Moncton

Shortly before noon today a man in his 20's was stabbed in the leg at a Methadone Clinic at 353 High Street . 2 Men took off from the scene in a tan colored SUV. The man that was stabbed was taken to hospital by ambulance. Video aired on CTV & ASN news.

Sad,I am sure that the idiotic anti-methadone groups will try to place the blame on methadone. Methadone saved my life and many others that I know...it is a miracle drug WHEN USED PROPERLY. I just wish that the lies and misinformation about the medicine would stop. It is 100 percent safe when used as directed..as is any medicine. Well,take care people and if you have a severe opiate addiction and have tried rehab,NA and such and nothing works..give methadone maintenance a try..it may save you.

You know what, a lot of people actually get to live a normal life when on methadone, not everyone is a criminal and some ppl get off methadone and live a normal life.

I do admit that some people are a waste of money and time, and never really use methadone to better themselves. But a whole lot of people do.

@Safia1117 this was choosing to not to continue when u have these feelings when using any medication or illicit drugs. this choice should have been made when first using opium before ending up in a position to need a methadone clinic! this is my own personal example and if you read it correctly, you would not have had to ask. please reread and understand what i said as your comparison is way off.

@dvs1572 Yes, it is 100% synthetic. Not one thing natural about it. Dolophine (methadone is a brand name) is a Greek word meaning 'to nullify pain'. It was created during WWII as a cheap alternative to morphine. It's in NO way attributed to or discovered by hitler. The closest connection one can make to the creation of dolophine & hitler is that German scientists took the credit.

@kegler27 What would you choose if you were an opiate-dependent teenager who became pregnant (unplanned, obviously)? Do you think there is a choice there? Well, actually, I guess there are... 1. Have an abortion. 2. Take methadone as an outpatient 3. Take methadone as an inpatient 4. Hide from everyone (esp doctors) while pregnant, continue opiates & have your child taken from you after birth. Which would you have chosen? Oh, let me guess. You're a guy & would 'never' do anything so horrible.

@dvs1572 Congratulations!! Truly. Maybe you could help me with some methadone advice? I'm tapering off from nearly 12 years of 140 mg/day. I got on as a pregnant 18 year old & am down to 50mg/day. Have been off heroin for over ten years now & never want to go back to any of it. Any advice (best way to detox, how long is P.A.W.S., etc) would be extremely appreciated. Just knowing anyone who has made it would be an enormous inspiration. Please, let me know if it's possible? All the best to you!!

Methadone continues to save my life, too. I don't like the 'liquid handcuffs', but I am grateful. And I would *hate* to go way back to being a junkie. I only watched this for the irony that this clinic is on High Street, wherever Moncton is...

most clinics are shit!! its all about making money off someone's misery. i found methadone helped me in the beginning and then it just started sucking the living life out of me. no interest or motivation to do anything. it rots your brain from the inside out and kills your soul.
