@Sunburn2007 some of the FD in major cities do have such cranes, used for the really heavy rescue operations, like e.g. truck rollovers, train derailments, collapsed houses/roofs, storm damages etc.. The departments which don't have such a cran then have to rely on the local salvage companies.

@Sunburn2007 Here is Europe, every major city's firefighters have a crane ( above 40t capacity ). That come in handy by truck accidents ( /watch?v=Kad_GoV4i3w ; /watch?v=6-3x446wuWo ) :)

@mastersnip02 Normally the Germans aks why they don't have U.S.-like fire trucks, U.S. sirens and U.S. emergency lights ;-)

Its better with a combined rescue vehicle with both crane and rescue tools.

@lilcheif1133 yeah it's also useful, also as it is pretty much different from these cranes. There's a comparable Truck at the Copenhagen FD, Denmark

@EnjoyFirefighting the good thing is that LACoFD has a Crane/Tow truck but they call it Heavy Rescue 103.

@mastersapper3000 bei uns in karlsruhe ham se letztes jahr ein ausm 10.ten stock holn müssen. die sanitäter ham schon geschwitzt, als sie ihn auf die trage gebunden haben xD und als er am haken hing, is der motor abgesoffen. n HLF hat starthilfe gegeben und der gute mann, landete dann sicher im RTW. der stand auf der nassen wiese, und hat sich festgefahrn. das HLF hat den RTW dann rausgezogen und ee ging ab ins KH.
