I don't think so really. But then again, I don't like rap/hip hop/pop (like britney spears and avril lavigne) and since the NA versions has common American music, that's about all they have -.-; And the songs they add aren't challenging usually. They either are super fast and easy button combo, or slow with like 1 hard part if any. The JP version has cooler songs and better arrow combos.
