I recently got in to coyote hunting this year. i have hunted twice this febuary and have been unsucessful. all i have is a rabbit distress call. so today i purchased the rage to mix in with the distress call/ ditress call then some yips and barks etc etc. but it seems i caint get the right sound out of this call? sounds like a goose call. need help!!!
@loony9090 I noticed that too. I tried closing off the end of the call more and using more force when I was blowing into the call and it started working correctly. I made some humming/grunting sounds and got a "raspy" sound, similar to when you are calling geese.
How exactly does one "get raspy" with the flextone dying rabbit call? My calling sounds nothing like this. Would love to hear from flextone, or better yet - see more video - on this question.
The two most important things to make the coyote rage call sound good are how you cup the call & how hard you blow in it. Only cup half the bell to get the best sounds. To correct the pitch jump that this call makes give your howling a very steady but agressive breath. Start off with two quick huffs to get the barks needed. To do the ki-yi's you need to do 2 very quick breaths together, the second breath needs to be stronger than the first to give it the yelp sound. video coming soon
I'm gonna rofl stomp the shit out of this guy I could not get anything like this out of it

@joedon1 To get a raspy tone with any call, make a noise with your voice as you're blowing through the call.

@loony9090 If you just blow through it, it does sound like a party blower.
