Yeah, they were really disappointing live. "Lovely" was probably my favorite LP of '88, but....In contrast, I thought the Darling Buds were pretty derivative and nowhere as good on record, but their show was a blast.....

Well, she never was a great live performer, was she? But, this is better than what I saw at The Roxy in 1989, which was pretty disappointing.

if the date given is correct then it cant be burnley mechanics- that gig was 19 may 92 according to my yellowing ticket stubb, and i dont remember there being so many people there in burnley!!

They played the Mechanics twice tilly, the second gig was less well attended perhaps due to BFC playing Ajax if I remember correctly.

Oh ok, that would explain it! as a footnote to the 92 gig, i seem to remember some stage diver sort diving into the 'crowd' and landing on his face as the 'crowd' parted. i also made a tit of myself by drunkenly acosting paul court as they left the stage door. seems like a long time ago now doesnt it?! good memories though...

Good times! Me and the girlfriend managed to get up to the dressing room after the '92 gig where I gave them a copy of the earlier gig video (this one). I don't remember the unfortunate stagediver, but can well believe it!
