Kid Ory's Creole Jazz Band perform "Weary Blues", recorded in 1945 and here released on a Crescent label 78 rpm record. Fine jazz, good listening. Enjoy!
This 1945 track was the result of a resurgence in jazz music. Kid Ory was a popular and successful jazz musician in the '20s and probably recorded this tune at that time. Came the depression, there were very few gigs for him so he went back to the family farm. The mid 1940s, he got work again and re-recorded many of his old hits. This is one of those recordings, a fairly late version. I think yours (the video response) is the earlier version.
I have posted a "response" to this track with a completely different 'line-up' and wonder which was the original?
