Campaign to legalize marijuana gains unusual allies

Organizers for Initiative 1068 are working to get their proposal to have Washington voters decide whether or not the use and possession of marijuana should be legalized on the ballot, and theyre gaining some unusual allies in their fight. KXLY4's Jeff Humphrey reports.

"Why legalize something that they have been trying to stamp out for years and years and years"...well, you old bastard, its as simple as this. "They" are those who have a vested interest in keeping it illegal through the impact legalization would have on big tobacco, big alcohol, and big pharma sales. If marijuana leads to hard drug use, Then milk leads to alcohol abuse. That argument is bullshit and has been debunked thousands of times. I would love to be able to go to the store and purchase an ounce of some weed. Not having to worry about what kind of crap they put in it to get it over the boarder. I once bought a bag that smelled like diesel fuel. And another time like gasoline. I couldn't smoke it and wouldn't smoke it because that could be harmful. Legalize, SAVE LIVES!

@MedicoreProductions exactly the dealers pushing harder more expensive drugs for profit is what gets ppl onto harder stuff i could see a dealer say hey u want somthing that can get u way higher and u can party way harder on this and then the buyer being like yeah sure and start doing coke cuz a dealer pressured him into it thats the only way it could be a gateway drug i do weed lots but fuck doing coke that shits not for me lol

Sorry, but MONEY and CORRUPTION keep drugs illegal in the USA. If they legalized tomorrow, all the payoffs from cartels and lobbyists would dry-up, and all of the DEA and Sheriff's Depts' jobs would be obsolete.

Watch "The First 48." Over 90% of the murders on this show are over dope. I've not seen one episode where a suspect murdered a person over a pack of cigarettes or a beer.

Dope ain't illegal to keep you safe, but to keep cops and politicians in the green, son.

@MedicoreProductions It's because the people that sell marijuana also sell more harmful substances, that there is this bleed over, and blurring of the line in the public perception between the harmless substance cannabis and the harmful drugs like meth, cocaine, and heroin.
