My sister got a medela pump from her friend for me and yah they said the same thing just buy new hoses etc! Most hospitals sell parts for medela pumps too lol!

For your hospital bag, make sure you bring a robe and comfy clothing for you, as soon as I could I was able to change into my own clothing and get rid of the hospital bag. Also, don't forget pads, I totally did and had to get my mom to bring some for me.

if you can get WIC, they will give you a really good breast pump for free. I've had it for 5 years and it still works like the day it showed up at my door.

I usually order pics from Shutterfly online and have ordered posters, enlarged pics, videos, wedding announcements and save the date cards from there before too. The cards come with envelopes and the you can choose different borders and everything. Overall, I think their picture quality is pretty good. They have different borders for birth announcements too, so check it out.

haha formula companies giving out free formula. Not everyone gets stretch marks you know, I never got any on my belly. . . but was five weeks early! I was due Oct 9 (mine and John Lennon's bday) and had him Sept 4. I have no advice on what to take cause I took NOTHING with me to the hospital. (emergency cesarian!) I loved the hospital jammies and mesh undies though.

I think it is different for everyone, because I was so comfy in the hospital gown. It was loose, and I didn't have to pull down my pants to potty, and with those HUGE pads you have to wear, I liked being "free" if you know what I mean. lol. I loved the Mesh panties they give you too. So you may end up finding that they aren't so bad.
what do you mean... kick counts...?

Kick counts are when you lay for an hour or two depending on your doctor and count how many times the baby moves within that time.

Bring something to entertain yourself if you're staying more than one night. I stayed 2 nights with my natural births and 3 nights with my c-section and even though the babies were in the room with me I got bored, i.e. when the babies were sleeping or I wasn't actively doing something for them. There's only so many channels on those TVs. I suggest a book or some cards. Videos if you have something to watch them on.

I also bought a new pack of cheap granny panties. lol I was pretty sure I'd need a c-section, so I bought underwear that would go over the incision, and would be comfortable. The mesh "undies" they have at the hospital aren't much fun. I basically wanted as much of my own stuff as I could have, and it really helped me feel better. Oh, and my own towel. Theirs are rough. I think that's all! lol
