Anathema - Lovelorn Rhapsody
from the "Serenades" album
1993 Peaceville Records

Lyrics:

I hear your voice
It sings so softly
Curious to join in
A harmony to breathe forevermore

Joyous the one to hear a voice

In fields where grass grows tall
Golden carpets swell and whisper
Autumn trees will weep

Immune to pity, I've grown used to grief
The eternal tear reciprocates

In fields where grass grows tall
Golden carpets swell and whisper
Autumn trees will weep

Dawn breaks open like a wound that bleeds afresh
In bleak misery, the lifeless lie in squander

Love has left me, fled from me
Fragrant lust waits beside and dies
Like flowers that wilt without refreshment
In midday sun I sit and bide time
Adorning me, a lovelorn rhapsody

  • Anathema have never sucked...they are just a different sound. Saying Anathema sucks is the same as saying that the Cavanagh brothers suck....think about it.

  • @JoseFruguletti1972 thumbs down for trolling

  • Damn, Katatonia had same history.

  • Sounds like a soundtrack of an horror movie in the beginning.

  • maaan i just wanna slap fools that criticize every bands music style. find something else to bug urselves, music aint ur thing. i mean LOL ur gonna tell ANATHEMA what to play? get ur shit right, friendly advice!

  • @bodomterror92 Check out the first three albums, Serenades, The silent engima and Eternity, respectively. This is when they they were Death/doom, and not alternative rock.

  • @eheister2006 go put a cucumber on your arse.

  • @shukka667 Crestfallen and Pentecost III we're pretty good...So when Darren was with them is when they rocked, after that it's eh

  • @blasphemator Still Life and Blackwater Park are maybe the best Opeth albums.

And this is great. I was listening only new Anathema albums but this doom fuckin rules ;)

  • @blasphemator lol if u can call blackwater park shit then i`m pretty much sure you are mentally insane..!!! i would have agreed if u wud have said that for heritage!!
