Celebrities including George Michael and Madonna have made emotional tributes to Dame Elizabeth Taylor, today. The double Oscar-winning star died of congestive heart failure in Cedars-Sinai Hospital, Los Angeles, yesterday.

A grassroots campaign is planning to boycott Britain's 2011 census, this month. Amongst them, Stonewall's Ben Summerskill is urging the country's lesbian and gay community to thwart the question on religion -- by identifying their beliefs as 'lesbian.'

A new report claims that homophobia is endemic in Northern Ireland workplaces. The Rainbow Project say one-in-four private sector workers hide their sexuality, while 40 per cent of public sector workers have heard anti-gay remarks.

80 countries signed a UN gay rights resolution to end homophobic violence and anti-gay legislation, yesterday. The pact was presented at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, with support from Hillary Clinton.

Finally, US attorneys have ditched plans to deport one half of a lesbian couple in New York. Argentinian Monica Alcota wed her American wife in Connecticut, last year, but faced possible deportation due to DOMA.
