I'm happy to hear someone who's alive now performing like this. I thought the style died with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. Yet this is no mere impersonation; the singer brings something uniquely himself. About Abney Park's music in general, I admire them for using instruments not typical to contemporary American music. I'm glad to see somebody exploring what else is out there & playing instruments of other eras & cultures for a unique sound.

I saw an ad for the Beatles Rock Band video game where pop stars were saying every modern band was heavily influenced by the Beatles. To some extent, but they underestimate musicians being influenced by other sources, especially bands like Abney Park (who no doubt have some Beatles influence) that they probably haven't heard of. As if what's on radio & MTV is all that exists! I think a lot of it is more marketing than music.

I always include the intro when I sing this - the part no one knows cause it's kind of neat!! does make it a bit longer though!!
