Semi-scale replica of the Curtiss biplane that Eugene Eli used to make the world's first "carrier" takeoff. Rubber powered, free-flying model. That is a real picture of Eli at the controls. Built and flown by Dave Gee aka StukaDave.

  • Yeah, the tails in front and in back makes it touchy. It circles either direction randomly, possibly because of the lack of side area. Nose ballast and less front-surface angle helped eliminate the stall.

  • Good job Dave on this project.

  • Nice. Interesting that it has a slight nose up under initial torque and then again when the power drops off, but flies nicely in the middle of the torque curve. Also intereting that it flies to the right.
