@Shelbyzd Hey, Michael! I'm glad they had a fix for it....I had to drive about 50 miles in second gear! :D Thanks! :) Jack

@raconter1 Yeah definitely. The A555 that came out later definitely helped that situation.

@Shelbyzd You are correct, Michael...I should have remembered..it was a 5 speed...and I had the Dodge Shadow turbo too..and I had to have the linkages of both manual transmissions replaced...had a nasty habit of breaking! Thanks! :) Jack

shelby actually didn't do anything on the daytona. It got the shelby name because they used the engine out of the omni GLHS which WAS done by shelby. still a rad car, I've got two.

@blakemcguire Hey, Blake! Thanks for setting the record straight on that! I guess Chrysler was definitely dedicated to using the Shelby name when it could! Congrats on your cars! Thanks! :) Jack

I still own my '87 Daytona Shelby Z that I purchased new. It still runs and drives just fine, but unfortunately does not look as nice as the one above...hopefully one day!

@Naturewxviews I'm glad you still have it...they are very rare these days! I had an 85 Laser Turbo back in the day! Good luck with the restoration! Thanks! :) Jack

You said car is from Canada, didn't happen to buy it From Rodney Burley did you? He had a Shelby stored for 15 years with 33k. and we could never make a deal on it. Are you the gentleman who flew up then got peeved because the brakes were siezd, strong armed Rodney to lower price, then drove it to Florida on twenty year old tires? You were one brave soul! I found another Shelby with 23k orig. miles and 70% complete with full restoration. Will have best original Shelby in US. We should talk

@skeens43 Hey, Brian! It's not my car, so I don't know the history of it....perhaps the owner will answer your question. Thanks! :) Jack
