Until this became a roaring success across the country in early 1938, this was known in the industry as "Disney's Folly", as virtually no one believed a feature-length cartoon would be accepted by movie audiences. Of course, after the box office receipts were counted, almost every studio wanted to produce an animated feature of its own- only Paramount, through Max Fleischer, followed through {"Gulliver's Travels" (1939)}.
