Locals have been sick of the SXSW's greed, commercialism, outrageous cost, and absurd efforts to contol the whole damn music scene during the week of the confab for years. The modest free events sponsored by local busnesses such as Jo's coffee and Yard Dog gallery featuring mostly acts that were rejected for the fest are a backlash against the monster South By turned into. More power to them. Besides, how else can a tried and true slacker take part in the action?

Never twittered and I was watching Cheap Trick with Stevie Ray Vaughn opening for them back when you were still sucking your moms dick, so you got nothing on my music sensibilities. If you bothered to read about or hit up a recent SXSW , youd realize that all the bands playing sanctioned shows also play free shows//PARTIES, so your the wanker who has been missing a lot of great shows, new bands.

SXSW is the best festival in the world and this local has loved every one since 95. Who cares about the greed, commercialism when theres so many free parties and shows that you cant even hit half of them. If you hate SXSW, then your a pseudo music lover who usually sees the glass half empty, your ass belongs in Dallas or SA.
