I have to say, I'm not so in to Prog as I was in my younger years, but the thing that stands out for Asia are the melodies and pop sensibilities.. That and Carl Palmer's smile...

lmao @ anyone heckling Steve Howe... that would be akin to heckling Stephen Hawkings for 'being stupid'. Howe is one of the greatest technical guitar players of all time.

"Daylight" was one of the highlights from the 1983 sessions, but was consigned to be "Don't Cry"s B-side on a 45...Deserved to be on the "Alpha" album, and would have been a stronger track than "True Colors" or "Never In A Million Years"...
Loved it when they opened the shows on the "Phoenix" tour with this song...
Will be seeing them again 2 days following this post (8/7/2010) and cannot wait to hear "Omega" tracks live !!!

Steve probably has aged some from being such a touring animal. I seriously wonder if anyone in rock has traveled and done as many gigs as he has. Yes toured a ridiculous amount in the seventies, then steve did the GTR thing, then Asia, then ABWH, then Yes, then Asia again, (all the while doing solo tours between super group tours) then Yes again, Yes and Asia at the same time + the jazz trio tours, this fall again with Yes in Europe + trio tour planned for 2010. 40 years and counting!
