Pupilija, papa Pupilo and the Pupilceks - reconstruction

"The posters for the second re-run of the performance in the Knight's Hall in Križanke were pasted over with the sign "Cancelled". The performance was not called off by the members of the theatre; it was the Hall's manager who withdrew his hospitality. The manager confided in us that there still are some chances that the members of the Theatre of Pupilija Ferkeverk perform in the Knight's Hall, but only if they are rehabilitated elsewhere. Pupiliceks, mend your ways!"

Emil Hrvatin's theatre reconstruction of the cult and - for the Slovenian theatre - groundbreaking neoavantgarde performance by Dušan Jovanović brings about the spirit of the 60s, while at the same time exposes the distance toward that time and the procedures of the reconstruction. The reviews of the Vienna performance identified it as a parade example of a theatrical reconstruction.
