Preparing DAILY methadone doses helps addicts resist the need for illegal drug abuse.Pharmacist(me!)CAREFULLY measures the correct amount for each patient.CAREFUL to chose correct type(sugar free or standard),CAREFUL to identify if patient has supervised or take away dose,and CAREFUL to record all supplies in the CONTROLLED DRUGS Register.Any errors and the POLICE can prosecute.Unfortunately the LACK of dispensing support staff, the STRESS of Compulsory Professional Development, and the risk of Criminal Conviction Charges means I will take EARLY retirement November 2009. Why are U.K Pharmacists NOT treated with respect anymore?

Thank you for the comment.The issue in the U.K is that liquid Methadone is the standard treatment,the Government don`t have suitably intelligent people in charge,and they are receiving bad advice from lobbying firms seeking continuous PROFIT rather than helping cure the problem.Preparing liquids WHEN the person turns up is a FAILED technique because of increased dangers of mistakes.In the U.K addicts are abusive when kept waiting,even for a few minutes,and they often arrive at busy times.

Hi!No,this is in the U.K.Actually this is a disguised`complaining` clip because it is very STRESSFUL for the Pharmacist,first thing each morning, to carefully measure out the DAILY individual doses and make sure the supervised ones are not taken away.The different types of Physeptone are in virtually identical bottles but the manufacturers don`t care.ANY mistakes and the Pharmacist gets heavily punished.With lack of support staff sometimes I think I have had enough of this pressure.

YES, it really is that stressful, and YES I have taken early retirement.The staff levels were, and still are, dangerously low, the drug errors were being covered up, and I took the film just to prove I used to be a dedicated pharmacist.The less you know, and the public, know about behind the scenes concerns,the better.

All Pharmacists have their own way of dispensing Physeptone,some may do them all at once,while others only prepare the prescription when the person turns up to collect their meds.I do know this as fact.Personally,i would consider using Diamorphine instead,Methadone is very hard to kick,and it keeps people in the cycle of dependency far too long.Tablet form would be better as liquid Physeptone is nasty on the teeth.

in amerika that liquid methadone would trade for alot of i mean "Medicinal Crack" see "idle edsel - Methadone Conspiracy" gosh i love this advice be sure to stay away from any drug that is not biologically based. Naturals over Pharmeceuticals.

This drug is very poor i'm having to take 80 day and its only just keeping withdrawal at bay. It certainly doesn't last 24 hours like it claims. More like 12 - 15.
