The close connection between Islam & rap really isn't so surprising. Not when you consider rap's origins as a voice of protest for an oppressed minority. The self-ghettoization of this minority with language & culture to survive the racism & discrimination of the oppressive majority closely mirrors the more recent experience of Muslims in the west. The only difference is that the west's fear of Afro/Caribbean immigration was totally unjustified. Not so with an anti-basic-human-rights ideology.

If 2pac wasn't a muslim already he would of for sure converted. All of his outlawz crew converted to Islam. Scarface is muslim and he worked with him in a few songs. I've even heard that Afeni Shakur converted to Isalm, so there's no doubt in my mind because God leads everyone to the right path eventually.
