Dr. Keith Wright teaches Music Appreciation at the College of Southern Maryland. He was impressed with Shen Yuns performance at the Kennedy Centers Opera House in Washington D.C.
[Keith Wright, Music Teacher, College of Southern Maryland]:
So it was just wonderful to hear the balance of the western with the traditional eastern, particularly the Chinese traditional instruments.
[Keith Wright, Music Teacher, College of Southern Maryland]:
It has been a wonderful performance, I really thought that it was moving. A nice pace to the performance.
[Keith Wright, Music Teacher, College of Southern Maryland]:
I really like the use of computer graphics. In terms of set changes. It was very quick, a very nice pace.
Music student Yoshiaki Horiguchi was also impressed by the strength of Shen Yuns live orchestra.
[Yoshiaki Horiguchi, Music Student, College of Southern Maryland]:
You can tell that they have rehearsed really hard, all the violins. It didnt sound like 10 violins or however many they had, it sounded together one unified violin.
[Doe Polanz, Performing Artist]:
Its so graceful, they barely touched the earth. I loved the costume and how theyre linked with the music. Music, costume, it was like one body of people and thats what I really like.
[Allen Connorton, Retired US Marine Captain]:
I was quite impressed over both the vocalists. The tenor, I believe his voice surpasses Pavarotti and also Domingo. I studied voice myself under [name unknown] when I was younger... The music and the dancing and the expression. I think it will do more than any speech any politician could ever give. Bring to our souls, peace and tranquility.
Shen Yuns next performance is at the War Memorial Auditorium in Greensboro, North Carolina on September 4.
