  • Good thing you got out ok, but with a Fiero, you should have seen that coming.

  • Well. The reason the fiero burned was because of the fuel leak. It had a full tank of gas at the time. If I was in any other car that flipped and had a gas leak it would have done the same thing.

with you saying you should have seen it coming just point to me you have no idea what you are talking about.

  • actually he probably said that because of the thousands of fieros that had engine fires and were recalled(even though those were early 4 cyl models)

  • I don't understand your comment.

  • oh, yeah. that part sucked. lol. had a lot of money in that car. the only thing that i was able to get out of the car before the fire got to bad when I was in her, was my cash. Thanks god because I had to use that to get a taxi to get home.

  • He made the assumption that all Fiero's are notorious for fires, due to a few 84's catching fire when the owners let the oil run too low (which broke the connecting rods), partly due to owner error, and GM's error in printing the wrong oil capacity (put 3 quarts, instead of 4.5).

I blame the fires on the owners and whoever changed the oil, because you ALWAYS check the oil level after you change the oil, to make sure that you filled it properly! It only takes 20 seconds to check it!

  • Be happy it did not start a forest fire

  • ahh, the fiero in it's natural state. crumpled and on fire.

  • @bigmax88 Wow I cant believe how far people will go to defend something they know NOTHING about. Luckily, I just did an extensive research project on the safety of smaller cars, and I actually called the NHTSA archives hotline. You want to know just how many CONFIRMED complaints of engine fires that the NHTSA ACTUALLY received? Only 135 between 1984-1988. 122 were while driving. The total recorded by NHTSA between 1984-2010 is 260. 260 CONFIRMED FIRE CASES out of 370,168 cars. Thats only 0.07%

  • @sonic505050 seriously? how dont you understand his comment? lol

  • @monkeymaker2006 run moble1 or eq u wont have this

  • @moneymaker2006

You are dead wrong there. only a handful of early 84 Fieros burned and Pontiac fixed the problem by not just installing a heatsheild but by also installing a bigger oilpan. The problem started back in the casting factory with improperly casted piston rods that had cracks in them that would break when the engine (wrongly rated for 3 qts) would run low on oil and then die catastrophicly.

  • @PlymouthRacer729 They didn't fix anything. They stuck a flimsy heat shield there and that didn't really solve anything. Yeah it helped sort the fires out but drive it too hard and the bearings are still gunna shoot through the block and spill oil.

  • More engine fires have been caused by idiots wire work under the hood

Idiots doing splices for amps or other electrical mods

All the cars I've seen or personally heard of were electrical

If you watch your gages you'll see your car start to over heat

    Check the dip stick

    Dip stick

  • thats got to be awful watching ur car burn. i wouldve been crying.
