Sérgio Mendes is a Grammy Award-winning Brazilian jazz musician. He has released over thirty-five albums, and plays bossa nova heavily crossed with jazz and funk. He has collaborated with numerous jazz greats including Stan Getz, Carlos Antonio Jobim, Cannonball Adderly, etc. In 1966 he signed with Herb Alpert's A&M label, and released his first hit album, Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66. The album went platinum primarily due to the release of the single Mas Que Nada, which is still a classic. He followed with two major hits in 1968 -- "The Look of Love", which reached #4, and "The Fool on the Hill" at #6. This selection is from his first major album Brasil 65.
