Sérgio Mendes is a Grammy Award-winning Brazilian jazz musician. He has released over thirty-five albums, and plays bossa nova heavily crossed with jazz and funk. He has collaborated with numerous jazz greats including Stan Getz, Carlos Antonio Jobim, Cannonball Adderly, etc. In 1966 he signed with Herb Alpert's A&M label, and released his first hit album, Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66. The album went platinum primarily due to the release of the single Mas Que Nada, which is still a classic. He followed with two major hits in 1968 -- "The Look of Love", which reached #4, and "The Fool on the Hill" at #6. This selection is from his first major album Brasil 65.
Bravo, bravo, bravo! Ever since '66 I have head that Sergio originally had a group called Brasil 65 and I have always wanted to hear some of that sound--so now I have--thanks also fpor showing the album covers of the group. .

Looking for 2 of Sergio's songs, 'After Midnight', & 'Masquerade'? My favorite performer of all time. I have seen him 4 times in concert. This was great!

I wish this piece had gone on for at least twice as long because this is the sort of thing I could listen to for the rest of the day.
