Trucker Randy Bishop, a Traverse City Republican and a former truck driver, Bishop is going by "Trucker Randy" on the campaign trail. He said he believes in smaller, limited and less intrusive government and public servants should be "exactly that . . . servants. We are here to work for the People, so they can enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." A Tea Party sympathizer, Bishop is pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment and pro 10th Amendment. He supports eliminating the Michigan Business Tax and the personal property tax on businesses. He supports a "Right To Work" state, a repeal of the income tax and a part-time legislature.
